LaBelle Announces new media partner for 2011

Official Mike LaBelle Weirbach Racing Press Release, 1/21/11

AMA Flat Track Pro Singles rider Michael LaBelle is proud to announce a new media partnership with www.offroadmotorcycles.ca as he builds on his great ending to the 2010 season. LaBelle, who will be riding for Weirbach Racing once again in 2011, finished top-five in AMA Pro Singles points and finally put a win under his belt at the Arizona Mile in early October last year. Offroadmotorcycles.ca will be alongside LaBelle for the entire American pro singles season as well as selected Canadian flat track events this season.

Offroadmotorcycles.ca editor Dan Paris said, “Mike has proven himself to be an incredibly talented rider. When he’s not busy flat track racing he helps with our motorcycle tests, providing quality feedback every time. We’re lucky to have the input of someone of his calibre! Mike is also gifted with the ability to write intelligent, witty and entertaining stories. Dirt Track is an often overlooked but really exciting part of the off-road motorcycle racing world, so we’re looking forward to helping expose it to rest of the dirt bike community through Mike’s column.”

Offroadmotorcycles.ca is a rapidly growing on-line magazine that has focused on most types of dirt bike racing but has never found its way into Canadian or American flat track. Teaming up with Michael LaBelle on his journey across the United States as he pushes for the Pro Singles championship will give www.offroadmotorcycles.ca the chance to, “learn the ways of the side-ways sport” and shine the spotlight on the flat track community! Many dirt bikers in both Canada and the U.S know very little about our beloved sport, so this will also give an exciting opportunity to provide more exposure for flat track racing with hopes of increasing its popularity. Even though there was growth in many areas of our sport in 2010 there is always room for improvement!

“I am excited to get the 2011 season rolling, and I am glad to have Dan Paris and the www.offroadmotorcycles.ca crew on board for the ride!” Mike explained. “I think this will be a great way to show my appreciation to Weirbach racing and the sponsors who have helped me so much in the past year. The www.offroadmotorcycles.ca crew have been awesome to me ever since I met them, and it would be my pleasure to have them tag along as I push for the Pro Singles championship!”

2010 was a milestone year for Professional flat track both in Canada and the United States. Doug Beattie teamed up with Kurt Bieggar Racing and became the first new Canadian flat track Champion in nearly seven years. Ducati and Kawasaki proved the doubters wrong by achieving their goals of winning AMA Grand National main events at very big races. If the plans of LaBelle and Offroadmotorcycles.ca work out, by the end of 2011 there will be a new member of that exclusive Flat Track Champion community!
